Enriched Streaming Protocols for Diverse Applications

In the past, multimedia data could only be stored on local devices, but with the continuous expansion of the internet and the rapid advancement of audio and video compression technologies, streaming applications have transcended the barriers of devices. Recording and streaming represent two different types of media applications, and the introduction of streaming technology has freed us from being limited to a single device, as well as from being restricted to developing media applications locally, providing us with greater opportunities.

To build real-time and high-quality streaming applications, the key lies not only in excellent content but also in a deep understanding of complex streaming protocols. This challenge has been a source of frustration for every media developer. We understand that this limitation is not limited to just live streaming applications. YUAN has 30 years of expertise in the professional audio and video market, and we are familiar with the streaming protocols used in various professional markets, including RTSP, RTMP, SRT, TS, HLS, WebRTC, and more. We help media product developers overcome the limitations posed by the device environment and seamlessly integrate with major professional markets.

Live Broadcasting Industry - RTMP / SRT / HLS

Streaming technology is widely used in various industries, with the live broadcasting industry being at the forefront. It includes not only familiar sports event broadcasts, esports live streams, and influencer live streams, but it also offers more choices for real-time broadcasting of digital content! If you want to build live audio and video applications with real-time interactivity but are not very familiar with RTMP/SRT and HLS streaming protocols, achieving this goal can be quite challenging. The RTMP protocol was the first to break the point-to-point transmission mode, creating a three-point transmission model, primarily helping content providers push media content to multimedia servers, allowing a global audience to watch. The HLS protocol is currently the most commonly used video streaming protocol. It is based on the HTTP protocol, making HLS naturally cross-platform, allowing every device to pull streaming content from the server for real-time viewing. NexVDO SDK supports RTMP/SRT and HLS protocols, with built-in QoS encoding control, providing convenience for developers in various industries without worrying about streaming protocol issues.

Security Industry - ONVIF / RTSP

In recent years, ONVIF has become the global standard in the security surveillance industry. Prior to this, each network video product developer used their own proprietary protocols, including authorization, device configuration, audio and video transmission, control, and security mechanisms. This led to incompatibility between front-end and back-end devices, making integration very complex. However, since the ONVIF specification appeared in 2008, this situation has changed. ONVIF clearly defines a unified communication process between network video products, allowing different brands of network video devices to establish secure network video surveillance systems through the same interface, and it has gained widespread support. So, if you want to develop network cameras or surveillance systems, only by supporting the ONVIF protocol can you achieve interoperability with all network cameras or CMS surveillance software. NexVDO SDK has built-in ONVIF protocol and has been certified by the official ONVIF association. Using NexVDO SDK, you can easily upgrade to an official ONVIF partner, making it easier for you to enter the security surveillance industry!

Video Conferencing - WebRTC / SIP

In the era of the gradual rise of VoIP ( Voice over IP ) internet telephony, SIP plays a crucial role in establishing communication between one or more users and also supported multimedia video conferencing on the internet. In the video conferencing industry, SIP has always been widely recognized as the mainstream standard, and without SIP support, it would not be possible to connect with various video conferencing endpoints. Furthermore, the emergence of WebRTC based on SIP brought the convenience of implementing P2P audio and video communication in web browsers without the need for additional plugins or third-party software, indirectly solving firewall issues. NexVDO SDK supports SIP and WebRTC protocols, providing various video processing functions, helping software developers who want to quickly integrate with the video industry, whether they are developing video conferencing systems or online course platforms, to easily achieve interoperability with the video industry.

Broadcast Television - TS / NDI

The broadcast television industry has its unique characteristics, and it uses the MPEG2-TS streaming protocol, also known as TS streaming, in terms of media transmission. This is because the broadcast television field typically requires high transmission stability in satellite transmission and broadcasting, which is relatively higher than the specifications in other industries. Therefore, TS streaming technology is crucial for the broadcast television market. NexVDO SDK directly implements TS streaming technology in the underlying module and helps software developers from non-broadcast television industries obtain this proprietary technology.

In addition, NDI protocol is widely used in the broadcast television industry. The NDI specification provides two configurations, full NDI and NDI®| HX, with the former able to transmit nearly lossless video and the latter allowing developers to transmit video signals with lower bandwidth. This enables broadcast television operators to achieve bidirectional communication within a 1G network infrastructure, overcoming the limitations of physical lines, and transmitting and receiving multiple video signals for easy multi-location collaboration and multi-video production. The NexVDO SDK supports both TS and NDI communication protocols, so developers don't have to worry about whether their streaming complies with the standards of the broadcast television industry, making it more efficient to enter the broadcast television field.

Medical Surgery - SkyLink X

Remote medical surgery is a very emerging technology. This application is not only not limited to local area network technology but also has very high requirements for the latency of image transmission. To address this challenge, YUAN has specially designed a technology called SkyLink X for network transmission. Under stable bandwidth, this technology can achieve image transmission with a latency of less than a few milliseconds over the internet. When combined with robotic arms, this allows doctors to operate remote robotic devices through remote streaming technology, overcoming limitations imposed by distance and device resources.
